Cars Tent

So yesterday, Memorial Day, we woke up to frost on the grass. Really!? Ugg. It rained all day and ruined our plans of a picnic. BUT we did have a great lunch. Spencer had asked around for a great place to get Mexican Food, and he was told of a little place up in Franklin, Idaho called La Tienda. SO, we packed up and drove the long drive - 12 minutes - to Franklin. It turns out the "La Tienda" is a gas station and the restaurant they were talking about is actually called The Borderline Grill (not a Mexican place) - inside the gas station. So after some confusion, we figured since drove up there we had might as well try it. Well folks, it was seriously delicious!!! I had (possibly) the best burger I have ever had in my life. Who new gas stations could produce such food??

Eli has started making animal noises. He can do a dog bark and a bird (which sounds like a high pitch dog). It's so cute! He has also recently become very enthralled by Toy Story 3. He seriously loves it. He is taking after his friend Lincoln Gillespie :)

If I were to beat someone up...

It would be mother nature! I am SO SICK of snow. There were a couple of days last week that were really nice I went out walking and got my first sunburn of the season and and loved it! Eli even got a little tan on his nose! For those of you still praying for moisture, please stop. We have enough.

It has been fun getting to know our new neighbors and people in our ward. I don't think we could have landed in a better place! Within five minutes of pulling up the moving truck, there were lots of men (and some women!) over here helping us move in. For the first 5 or 6 nights we were here we had a treat every night. People just kept showing up! Everyone here is so nice!

Now that we are settled we are officially ready for visitors - we have three guest bedrooms and a gigantic family room, so come one come all!!! Plus Logan has Aggie Ice Cream.... mmmmm

Some of you know it has been a really hard adjustment for me to go from working to staying home. But I am starting to find things to do and ways to keep busy. I planted some vegetables (some are starting inside - until after the last frost) and have been painting a lot! Now that Eli is getting a little older and can entertain himself for a few minutes at a time, I have started reading again - oh how I missed it! I am reading "Those who love" It's the story of John and Abigail Adams (John as in President Adams). It's awesome.

Now on to the important things... Eli is walking! He will not walk on command, and when he wants to get somewhere quick, he always drops to his knees and crawls - but he is walking! Here he is checking himself in the mirror before church! He is the best.

Our new home!

Sorry it has taken me so long to post. Moving sucks. I forgot how much I hate it since we hadn't done it in a while. BUT, now that we are all moved in it feels SO good to be here! I love having our own place! My favorite part is the kitchen! The condo we moved from had the smallest kitchen in the world, it was hard to fit even two people in there! But this kitchen is gigantic, that is one of the reasons we chose this house - so we can entertain - so all of you, come and visit!!

Our ward is really nice, I stood up and introduced myself in Relief Society and the lady behind me announced that she used to babysit Spencer when he was little (he lived in Logan till he was 7 or 8). Then after church we had a guy knock on the door and say that he knew Spencer too! It is such a small world.... well Logan is a small place :)

Busy, well kind of

We have officially been in Logan for one week now. We are staying with our friends Court and Marcie. They have been so kind to let us stay until we close on our house, March 3rd. They have a great big house and are letting us stay in their basement. Spencer started his job at the clinic and really loves it. As his first act as manager, he sat down two MA's that work there.... they are sisters and apparently one of them is full-time and the other is just on-call because family members can't work there at the same time. So being the man he is Spencer sat them down and told them that he would be watching them both for the next 30 days, and whoever he liked better he would keep, then he would fire the other one!!

I told Spencer that I hoped he laughed afterwards... or at least smiled so

they knew he was joking... oh dear.

Eli is doing so good, considering he is totally out of his element and is sleeping in our closet. Court and Marcie have two kids who love Eli so he gets to have attention on h

im all the time!

As for me? I have explored all over town. I have gone to some great stores, had a fun lunch with Carol, a long lost friend from elementary school, met some of Marcie's friends from El Salvador and made Pupusas (sp?), gone on walks, and watched a LOT of HGTV. I

am not really sure what to do with myself now that I am not working. It is so strange, but nice. Here are some photos of our latest:

Since this blog serves somewhat as a journal as well as keeping friends and family up to date, I figure this is a good place to saw what I am feeling these days. Note: if you don't like cheesy or if you feel uncomfortable with sappy, stop reading now.

I cannot even express into words the amount of love I have for my little boy. He is the BIGGEST blessing and joy I have ever had. I love his smell, I love going to get him first thing in the morning, I love his smile, I love when he reaches for me, I love when he claps. I love the little baby wrinkles in his legs, I love his hair, I love the new things he learns each day. I love watching him learn and develop, I love to have him asleep on me. I love his cry, I love his laugh, I love spending all of my time with him. I didn't even know I was capable of loving someone so much. He is the best thing in the world. I am excited to wake up each day now and forever with my son, I love you Eli!

P.S. I think that Spencer is still around here somewhere.
